A safe place to be heard
Getting off the Streets
We believe in giving people the opportunity to have a better half of their life and in some cases to have a better life with the time they have left.
As in sport we believe the second half can be better than the first half. It may require some changes and maybe a different approach but it’s worth taking the risk especially if it leads to a positive outcome and even possible victory!
Life expectancy for those who remain on the streets is on average 47-50 years.
Half-Time offers folk the opportunity to get off the pitch (street) come inside to a safe environment and chat to our staff and volunteers about their lives in a new way. With a holistic approach concerned about the mind, body and soul we offer folk the opportunity to talk about a fresh start and the changes that could be made to help them get off the street. We give people time to discuss, think and if they wish pray about their future.
WHAT WE DO
The BCARS Journey
The Projects we run to help Rough Sleepers get off the streets.
Based in the town centre of Bournemouth working with our partners at the YMCA, Half-Time offers a person centred approach to those rough sleeping on our streets. This isn’t a drop in, it is support and help by appointment because we believe in putting people first. This building was dedicated to the glory of God in April 2017 to love support and motivate those in need.
Support we offer
We are open all year round: during the winter months we assess rough sleepers for our supported bed project Sleepsafe, during the summer we continue to motivate and support those on the streets.
We offer the following:
- Laundry service
- Drink / Snacks
- c/o Address
- Phone charging,
- Ordering ID (Birth Certificates)
- Support for Housing Assessments.
