Description

Volunteers may be called upon to be a host or a server for the duration of their shift. We are looking for friendly people who can make sure Staysafe guests feel welcomed and feel they are in a safe place.

Host

Hosts will ensure guests are aware of Covid-19 safety requirements (Hands, Face, Space), where sanitising stations are and when to wear masks. Hosts will ensure track and trace information is completed and register guests as they arrive. Hosts will know procedures for hygiene, fire procedures, the programme of activities for each session, accessing food/beverages and lockers, and directing guests to phone charging points.

Server

Servers oversee practical needs: making drinks for drinks station, overseeing meal prep in the kitchen with guests or other volunteers, helping guests log onto laptops or access online support and training, helping guests with reading or understanding paperwork, playing games with guests (board games, pool, table tennis).

A Food Hygiene certificate is required for overseeing meal prep.

Both roles require:

People with the heart to help who can work as part of the Staysafe Team.

The ability to encourage healthy friendships with guests to help them feel valued and cared for as they seek to move forward with their life.

Being able to support paid staff and visiting professionals is also vital to this role, liaising with FW staff on duty with any issues that arise.

Volunteers will adhere to all health and safety policies and COVID-19 protocols, making strict use of PPE and social distancing where appropriate.

A DBS check will be required for this client-facing role.
